Shankar's Ai starring vikram and amy jackson is officially announced that it will release for 2014 diwali (on october 22, 2014). Since shankar's magnum opus AI is releasing, some expected that vijay's kaththi will back off. But as vijay recently tweeted "po po poitae iru", murugadoss and team decided to release the movie for diwali as planned earlier and face the healthy competition with Vikram's AI.

Vikram's AI has music composed by AR Rahmand and Kaththi's music is composed by Anirudh.

Hope there will be a good competition for music as well.

Shankar and Vikram's Ai is going to be the sure shot winner. Why vijay has to compete with the giants? There are lot of biggies in AI. To name a few: Shankar, AR Rahman, Vikram and the list goes on. In Vijay's Kaththi, vijay is the only biggie. If kaththi has to be a hit, he has to release the movie after AI's release. I want both the movies to be a hit, hence releasing the movies separately will be a better choice.
