Director: Kannan Thamarakkulam

Cast:  Jayaram, Rimi Tomy

Even when the end titles start rolling the only thing that director Kannan Thamarakkulam's puerile saga called Thinkal Muthal Velli Vare leaves in our mind would be this question: Actually were the makers of the movie supporting TV serials and its viewers or making fun of them?

The storyline, if there is one, goes like this. Jayadevan Chunkathara (Jayaram) is a prolific writer of TV serials. He knows the 'pulse' of the Malayali serial addicts. He has taken a decision, for reasons best known to him, that he will never get married.

But that decision remains only until his ardent fan Pushpavally (Rimi Tomy) forces him to marry her, with a suicide attempt. She turns out to be quite a pain for Jayadevan. She acts weird and is wary of any woman, who comes even in the vicinity of her husband. This affects Jayadevan's writings.

It requires abundant patience on the part of the viewers to sit through this boring misadventure that is meant solely for those who laugh watching the comedy skits and enjoy being addicted to the TV soaps.

There is no problem in making such a brainless comedies. But the problem is when it all becomes this absurd and totally tasteless.
If you consider the kind of films that he has been doing, things have reached a stage that it will be a surprise when Jayaram does a genuine role. Anoop Menon repeats his trademark show, once again.

But it is Rimi Tomy who makes her entry as a heroine with one of the most irritating performances ever in Malayalam film history. She hams it up like there is tomorrow and takes her a bit too seriously it seems.

Thinkal Muthal Velli Vare is one of those 'package movies' tailor made for satellite rights, with the grand idea that it would be good enough as a TV show. Watch this one at your risk only!

Verdict: Better Avoid it
