I think last 4 years have been not great for Superstar Rajinikanth.  After the blockbuster Endhiran, both Kochadaiyaan and Lingaa failed miserably in Box Office.  After the continuous disaster, rajinikanth is all set to start his next film now.  He is very careful about his next film as he very badly requires a hit.  He is aware of the trend change in tamil cinema now and hence roped in a young director Ranjith to direct his next film.  Ranjith has earlier directed Attaikaththi and Madaras.  Both the films were critically acclaimed.  It is has to be recalled that Superstar Rajinikanth praised Ranjith after watching the film Madras.

Rajinikath heard many scripts from raghava lawrence, murugadoss and others too apart from Ranjith.  But superstar was impressed with ranjith's script and finalized it.  Kalaipuli S Dhanu will be producing this film and the shooting is planned to start by june 2015. The crew is planning to release this film for 2016 pongal.   Ranjith's all time associate Santosh Narayanan will take care of the music department.  Santosh Narayanan is one of the great talented music composers but very under rated.  We still cannot forget his theme music for Soodhu Kavvum.  All his music so far are of international standard.  I am sure, santosh will rock for this rajini's film as well. Just can't wait for his theme music.  He will surely take the music to next level in this film.  So far, only the director, producer and music composer is finalized. Other crew members will be finalized soon. It is also said that superstar plays his age and no heroine in this film.
