Cast: Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Lee Pace
Director: James Gunn
Plot: A group of jailbreaks have gained possession of a powerful orb and now are being pursued by the most dreaded being in the galaxy.
Under the likeness of intergalactic movies like Star Wars and Star Trek, comes Guardians of the Galaxy, yet another visual treat from Marvel, which lives up to the hype. With GOTG, Marvel cinematic universe has now launched its territory to outer space and now we have a great chance of seeing some of the powerful antagonists of Marvel. Talking about GOTG, it's a pretty enjoyable movie where you feel things are
changing frequently, and still do not spoil the story's speed.

At the very beginning, we see Peter Quill (the wise cracking Chris Pratt - Star Lord) dancing to the tunes in his Walkman, as he explores an old relic. You just can't resist to smile watching him do funky dance moves. And when he finally gets into a chamber
containing what he came looking for, a group of mercenaries stop him for escaping and from that moment, you can guess things are about to get awesome in this movie. A bounty is placed on Quill, which leads him to the duo of Rocket (the adorable raccoon voiced by Bradley Copper) and Groot (the living tree with a smile voiced by Vin Diesel). To make things worse, Ronon (Lee Pace) wants that orb and sends the trained assassin Gamora (played by the gorgeous Zoe Saldana) to retrieve it. The following series of events land the four in jail. There they meet the revengeful Drax, The Destroyer (played by the beefy Dave Bautista). There we go, THE GUARDIANS OF
THE GALAXY have assembled!!!
This film has an interestingly similar proceedings with The Avengers when you compare how both the teams assemble. But still we are convinced and that is the advantage GOTG has. It delivers humour along with action and interestingly puts forward the story in the process. One point that should be particularly noted is that the galaxy and space feel fresh & diverse from what we have seen in other space movies. The visual effects department has done really great. The background music and songs are memorable (especially Quill's Awesome Mix Vol.1). With action choreography excellently executed and a gripping screenplay, we never get the feeling of boredom while watching the film.
The ensemble cast is a perfect icing on the cake! Chris Pratt is in his career defining role as the Star Lord. His expressions and dialogue delivery a perfectly suit the character. Zoe Saldana pays her part as Gamora in the most faithful way possible. Bradley Cooper rocks his part as the loud mouth Rocket. His voice is an unique addition to the cute character. Though Vin Diesel has only one line to say for Groot ("I am Groot") it gets struck in our minds. Lee Pace has done an intriguing job as the menacing Ronon, the accuser and Benicio del Toro makes sure his role of The Collector gets noticed. And what Marvel movie is complete without a Stan Lee cameo??
This is a movie in which you don't find much flaws. But there are some. The rest of the characters except Peter Quill are not given solid back stories. The film bares a regular storyline.
This year has been Marvel's and Guardians is yet another example of how much Marvel cinematic series is improving. It is a movie that can be enjoyed by all ages. This is a must watch movie for all the comic book movie fans.
